Generation Media are very pleased to announce they have made the list for Campaign Best Places to Work in 2020. This is coupled with Gold recognition from Investors in People and following submission for our 7th Continuous Professional Development award from the IPA .
Gone are the days of a few drinks down the pub and an annual shopping voucher qualifying as perks of the job. Today’s modern work force are focused on reward and recognition, ongoing career development, as well as access to well-being and a focus on work-life balance.
These initiatives contribute to employee engagement leading to a more enthusiastic and committed workforce who care about the work they do. Our efforts in this area ensure we are equipped to support our team with the many challenges surrounding mental health in the modern world.
Mind recently surveyed 44,000 employees and found that more than 70% of employees have experienced mental health problems of some kind, while more than half are affected by poor mental health in their current workplace. We have a care of duty to our teams to offer the correct support both internally, through ongoing well-being initiatives, and externally with a fully funded Employee Assistance Programme.
The key is providing an environment and working practices that allow a team to thrive. Our current benefits include 5pm closures on Friday, Christmas office closure, summer hours and work from home options, supported by providing dedicated space for recreation and relaxation.
We continually review our benefits and reward and recognition schemes to ensure they meet the expectations of our team. This is coupled with an ongoing conversation surrounding professional development and training at all levels of the business.
A happy work force is a productive work force and is essential to us delivering the best for our customers, company and community both today and for the future.
